Experience

Dr. Candice Darbasie-Anyawu is an experienced paediatrician based in Trinidad and Tobago. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of the West Indies (UWI) and furthered her studies to earn a Doctor of Medicine in Paediatrics from UWI. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. Francis College, New York. Dr. Darbasie-Anyawu has worked in various roles at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, where she has gained experience as a Registrar and Acting Consultant in Paediatric Medicine. Her clinical work has included rotations in neonatology, paediatric medical wards, cardiology, haematology, and paediatric emergency care, as well as community paediatrics. She has been involved in research, including a project focused on child sexual abuse in a tertiary hospital setting. Dr. Darbasie-Anyawu holds certifications in Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Dr. Darbasie-Anyawu is registered with the Medical Board of Trinidad & Tobago and is a member of the Trinidad & Tobago Medical Association and the Paediatric Society of Trinidad and Tobago.
